This and That

Today was our 1st day of "big kid" school. They are in a program that has 1/2 teacher's kids and 1/2 special needs kids. It is a really neat program and they loved their 1st day! I was the one crying when I left the room. I am so proud of them!

They got to pick out their own backpacks (Hello Kitty & Dinosaur Train) and shoes. Yes, they both light up and Maddie's have alot of "bling", just what she wanted!

Last week Maddie finally started ballet/tap and had a blast (not that you can tell in the picture). I guess she is finally old enough and really liked it. We shall see how it goes. Adam is trying to talk Colton into doing karate. They are going to visit a class next week.

Summer Wind at the Beach

Last week we made our annual trip to the beach for a Martin Week at the Beach. This was our house we rented this year, Summer Wind. It was perfect for our entire family! Thanks to MawMaw for a wonderful week! This is a long post....too many great pictures. Thanks to Katie for taking the first couple even though C & M weren't interested in being models today. Bribery didn't even work!

Craft time: headbands and coloring wooden race cars.

Trying our hand at crabbing. We did pretty good, but no keepers.

These are our cousins Will and Emma from Arkansas. We ate at The Purple Cow, where everything is purple, even the toilets!
One night we got to go to the local putt-putt place, where they only accept cash!

Flying a kite with PawPaw. Too bad we chose the only night with no wind.

1st Tube Ride

Last week Adam had to work in Dallas so me and the kids got to tag along. We stayed with family and got to spend lots of time with our cousins who we only get to see a couple of times a year. We had a great time and thank you for letting us invade your house for a week! On Friday we got to go out on the boat and ride the tube. Madilyn didn't care for the tube riding, but loved swimming in the lake while the boat was stopped. Colton loved riding in the tube, even by himself!

This was hilarious, Colton held on for dear life! After they fell off the tube, Colton was still holding on to Adam's life jacket and was proud of himself.

Let Freedom Ring

Happy 4th of July! We started the day at the pool when they opened for some swimming and ended by celebrating our freedom with The Willetts Family. We had yummy bbq chicken and lots of different sides. At dark, the kids (big & little) went out to watch and do our own fireworks/sparklers. It was a perfect day to spend with wonderful friends that we call family.

Maddie holding baby Ava for the first time. She was in love and thought she was like her baby dolls. Made her day!

The three stooges! Best Friends Forever!

Fiesta Texas

A couple of weeks ago we took a family vacation to San Antonio and went to Fiesta Texas for 2 days. C & M had a blast! They were actually tall enough to ride a lot of rides by themselves. Our cousin met us on the last day and enjoyed the thrills as well. I am glad Adam likes to ride roller coasters because these kiddos LOVE to ride them (and mommy is not enthusiastic about them anymore). It was a great mini vacation and we can't wait to go back!

We can swim & jump off the diving board!

On Wednesday we went to Noah's Ark Pool with some of our
friends. The kids had a blast, especially since they are swimming with NO floaties this year! They also jumped off the diving board, over and over again! Madilyn was practicing her cheerleading moves and Colton, Superman. Thanks to Katie for the great action pictures! My babies are growing up, but we are enjoying every minute of it!

Ready, Set, Go

It's summertime!!!! I have never appreciated summer so much. Colton & Maddie have been counting down the days till "Mommy can stay home all day with us!" We have a lot planned for this summer: Fiesta Texas, VBS, swim lessons, and a trip (or two) to the beach.
Well, I have been wanting to start a blog for a while, just didn't know how, nor had the time to figure it out. I went to a week long technology training last week and learned how to create one. So here's to a new way to get a glimpse of our lives! Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
